A Staircase and
Railings
Finished Railing and Posts
The square posts are stained before being covered so that any places that show will blend in with the finished posts.
Custom milled Cedar slabs were used to clad existing square posts. The railings and uprights are Cedar also.
Mortise and tenon joints give extra strength to the spindles and top and bottom rails.
The adjustable steel post will have to be covered somehow.
The adjustable steel post was replaced with a square wooden one and then clad with cedar slabs.
This piece of wood was found by the owners well before the job was started.
